This is the second volume, in a series of five, dedicated to reproducing some of the long-forgotten articles from historical journals relating to Cornwall’s illustrious and ancient past. The articles themselves are taken from a variety of publications, both local and national, and from a wide span of time. To have these valuable sources in a set of compact volumes makes not only for an interesting read, but also a useful tool for reference.

This second volume will include: An Attempt to Examine the Barrows in Cornwall by Stephen Williams (Philosophical Transactions, 1740); Notice of the Giant's Hedge and of the Camps and Barrows Contiguous by Henry McLaughlan (Report of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1846); Trethevey Stone (Illustrated London News, 1848); Men Skryfa (The Gentleman's Magazine, 1849); The Cliff-Castle at Maen, near the Land's End, in the Parish of St Sennen by J.T. Blight (Journal of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1864); Antiquities in East Cornwall, from a manuscript by the late E.H. Pedlar (Journal of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1864); Castallack Round, in the Parish of S Paul by J.T. Blight (Journal of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1865); Notes on the Scilly Isles, Together with Some Cornish Antiquities by S.M. Mayhew (Journal of the British Archaeological Association, 1877); The Hurlers by C.W. Dymond (Journal of the British Archaeological Association, 1879); Flints by J.B. Cornish (Transactions of the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society, 1890-91); Prehistoric, Roman and British Periods by J.H. Matthews (A History of the Parishes of Saint Ives, Lelant, Towednack and Zennor, in the County of Cornwall, 1892); Notes on Duloe Circular Enclosure by The Rev. W. Iago (Journal of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1894); The Cromlechs of Cornwall by E.B. Vivian (Camborniana, 1897); Prehistoric Remains in Cornwall: 2 - West Cornwall by A.L. Lewis (Journal of the Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, 1905); Flint Axe-Head from St Enoder Parish by Cornelius E. Cardew (Journal of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1912); The Hill and the Circle by R.A. Courtney (Self published, 1912). The final contents may vary slightly.

The volume will also contain a bibliography and an introduction by Chris Bond.
