Set One - Lantern Slides

A set of four postcards featuring high quality reproductions of images from a set of lantern slides of c.1890 and showing some of the prehistoric monuments of Penwith. The first showing a gentleman resting against Mulfra Quoit in West Penwith; the second a different gentleman at the Mên-an-Tol; the third shows the same gentleman at Lanyon Quoit; and the last shows Carwynnen Quoit near Camborne in East Penwith.

Set Two - 19th Century Engravings

A set of six postcards featuring high quality reproductions of 19th century engravings of the prehistoric monuments of Britain. The first showing an engraving from 1804 of Dance-Main or The Merry Maidens near St Buryan in Cornwall. The second, from 1808, shows Pendarves or Carwynnen Quoit near Camborne in Cornwall. The third, from 1848, shows Trethevy Quoit near Liskeard in Cornwall. The fourth shows an engraving of c.1845 of Kit's Coty House near Aylesford in Kent. The fifth is an 1813 engraving of Lanyon Quoit near Madron in Cornwall and the sixth and last shows an engraving from 1831 of Arthur's Stone near Swansea.

The monuments featured are Duloe Stone Circle, Boswens Menhir, Watch Croft Menhir, Mên Gurtha, Tremenheere Longstone, The Blind Fiddler, Lanyon Quoit, Nine Maidens Stone Row, Trelew Menhir, Zennor Quoit, The Sisters, Chûn Quoit, Dry Tree Menhir and Carfury Menhir.
